We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or camera data — the app doesn't request access to any of these.
We use your information solely to operate and improve the app: authenticating your account, displaying your profile and activity to you and (where you've chosen to make it public) to other users, personalising the facts you see, sending notifications you've opted into, and moderating user-submitted content for accuracy and appropriateness.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Fakt is built on Google Firebase, which provides our authentication, database, and server infrastructure. Your data is stored on Firebase's servers and processed in accordance with Google's Firebase privacy practices. We also use Firebase Crashlytics to help us diagnose and fix crashes.
Some information you choose to make public — such as your username, avatar, and facts you submit that pass review — is visible to other users of the app by design.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, activity history, and personal data from our systems. Facts you've submitted that have already been published to the public feed may remain visible, without being linked to your account, as they've become part of the shared public content.
If you enable notifications, we use your device's push token to send you reminders and updates (such as streak reminders or activity on content you've engaged with). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.
Fakt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly within the app (editing your profile, deleting your account), or by contacting us directly.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
